9th December is proving to be a windfall for film lovers. The day will see not one, not two, but thirteen Indian films hit various streaming platforms. From Samantha's Yashoda, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh's Doctor G to Rishabh Shetty's Kantara in Hindi; many films that made a mark at the box office are now releasing on various OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, Sony LIV, Zee5 and others. 

YASHODA - Prime Video

Sci-Fi Telugu survival thriller YASHODA starring Samantha in the titular role, alongside Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Murali Sharma. Samantha had also received praises for her action sequences in the film. The film is about a woman who agrees to join a surrogate program out of desperation to find her missing sister. Things start to go haywire when revelations about the high-end surrogate facility come to light.

KANTARA - Netflix

The Hindi version of the much-awaited Kannada blockbuster film, Kantara, is finally set for an OTT release. Rishab Shetty is the director and written of the film and has even acted in it. The film depicts the lives of a vulnerable tribal group whose territory is guarded by supernatural forces. Other characters you will see in Kantara, like Achuth Kumar, Vinay Bidappa, Kishore, Pramod Shetty, and many more.

MONSOON RAAGA - Zee5

Monsoon Raga is a remake of the Telugu film C/o Kancharapalem. It stars Dhanajaya and Rachita Ram in the lead. The movie captures the journey of different characters in a beautiful way. The film revolves around four couples and their love. From a middle-aged bachelor’s office romance to a school-going boy’s crush, the film has it all.

DOCTOR G - Netflix (Dec 11th)

Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, and Shefali Shah in the lead roles, the medical campus-comedy drama Doctor G. The film follows the struggles of a male doctor who wants to specialise in orthopaedics but secures admission in gynaecology, thus leading to chaos. The first half is all about stereotypes, and jokes and the other half is a heartwarming dream with a social message.

WITNESS - Sony Liv

Shraddha Srinath and Rohini starrer social drama WITNESS, talks about the brutal reality of manual scavenging. The film is directed by Deepak, who is also cinematographer of the film. Others part of the cast include Azhagam Perumal, Shanmuga Raja, Subatra Robert.

BLURR - Zee5 

Blurr is actress Taapsee Pannu's first production venture and is also starring in the film. She will be seen playing the role of twin sisters in Blurr, also starring Gulshan Devaiah. It's an official Hindi remake of the 2010 Spanish film 'Julia’s Eyes'. The plot revolves around a woman who is slowly losing her eyesight while investigating the death of her twin sister.

RATHASAATCHI – Aha Video

The story of Rathasaatchi is a testament to the humanity that exists within the armed forces and how it impacts the lives of two individuals. The movie is based on the story Kaithigal written by popular novelist Jeyamohan. Actor Kanna Ravi in the lead role.

URVASIVO RAKSHASIVO - Netflix, Aha Video

Urvasivo Rakshasivo, a romantic entertainer is all about the modern-day take on relationships. Actors Allu Sirish and Anu Emmanuel essaying the lead characters. It is the official Telugu remake of the 2018 Tamil film "Pyaar Prema Kaadhal".

Macherla Niyojakavargam centers on newly-posted Guntur District Collector Siddhartha Reddy, who faces off against local rowdy and politician, Rajappa. This movie is Nithiin’s first mass entertainer role. Also Stars Samuthirakani, Krithi Shetty and Catherine Tresa.
