Challenging star Darshan recent theatrical outing 'Kaatera' a action-packed Kannada drama, Directed by Tharun Sudhir. Kaatera released in theatres on December 29, 2023. The movie opened to positive reviews from audience and became the highest grossing Kannada film of 2023.
Amid successful theatrical run, the movie is all set to make its OTT debut on Zee5 following its theatrical release. The film is scheduled for February 9, exclusively in the Kannada version.
The screenplay for the film was collaboratively crafted by director Tharun and Jadesha K Hampi, known for his past work on films like Guru Shishyaru and Gentleman. The film introduces Aradhana Ram, daughter of actress Malashree, and veteran actor Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist. Kumar Govind, Vinod Kumar Alwa, Danish Akhtar Saifi, and Shruti played supporting roles in this action film.
Synopsis: Set in the 70s, Kaatera is a period film revolving around the land reform Bill of that era. The central plot follows Darshan’s character, a blacksmith, as he advocates for the rights of the oppressed villagers in his community, who are facing tyranny from the local landlord.
