Ranbir Kapoor's blockbuster Hindi film Animal made its worldwide theatrical premiere on December 1, 2023. It garnered a mixed response from the viewers and critics for promoting violence and misogyny. However, the film became one of the highest grossers of 2023 and a whopping ₹900 crore globally. It marked Ranbir's career's biggest blockbuster.
Now, after setting theatrical box office records, it is finally coming to streaming giant Netflix from January 26, 2024 coinciding with Republic Day. In addition to Hindi, Animal will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on the OTT platform.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri in major roles. The plot revolves around Ranvijay, son of Delhi-based business tycoon Balbir, who returns to seek vengeance after an assassination attempt on his father.
'Animal' is produced by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Cine 1 Studios' Murad Khetani, and Bhadrakali Pictures' Pranay Reddy Vanga.
A sequel titled Animal Park is in development.
