Pathu Thala is a remake of the 2017 Kannada Superhit film Mufti starring Shiva Rajkumar and Srimurali. The upcoming Tamil film is helmed by Obeli N Krishna. The stylish actor Silambarasan will reportedly essay the character originally played by Shivarajkumar in the Kannada version.
The gangster film also stars Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Teejay, Redin Kingsley and Kalaiyarasan among others in pivotal roles. Farook J Basha has handled the cinematography, while the editing is taken care of by Praveen KL. AR Rahman is composing the music. The movie is scheduled to release on March 30.
The actor, who has the sequel of VTK, also has Corona Kumar in the pipeline.
