Dhanush’s recent theatrical bilingual film ‘Vaathi’ in Tamil / ‘Sir’ in Telugu, is now going the OTT way as it set for its Netflix premieres following its theatrical debut on the 17th of February. Sir marked Dhanush's first straight film in Telugu. Directed by Venky Atluri, who previously directed Tholi Prema, Mr. Majnu, Rang De. The movie received a good response from the audience and Dhanush's performance was specially praised.
The film is based on an incident that took place in the 1990s. The movie about a school teacher's fight against scams that makes education expensive, and thus inaccessible for students from weaker sections. It’s official now that Vaathi is locked to stream from March 17, 2023. The Telugu version will also be released simultaneously on the platform.
Dhanush played the role of a teacher in the film. The flick has Samyuktha as the female lead. Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, and others played significant roles. The cinematography by Yuvraj and music by GV Prakash are notable aspects of the movie.
