Nithin Krishnamurthy’s directorial debut, Hostel Hudugaru Bekaggidare, was released on July 21. Despite clashing with two major Hollywood movies Barbie and Oppenhmeir, It received positive feedback from critics and was praised for its screenwriting, humour, and music. The film was dubbed in Telugu as ‘Boys Hostel’, which hit theatres on 26th August 2023.
Even the actors in ‘Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare’ are newcomers, with lead actors Prajwal BP, Manjunath Nayaka, Rakesh Rajkumar, Srivatsa and Tejas Jayanna Urs all making their acting debuts in the film. Rishab Shetty, Pawan Kumar, Shine Shetty and Ramya make cameo appearances.
Director Nithin Krishnamurthy, who played a pivotal role, has also produced the movie in collaboration with Varun Gowda, Prajwal and cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap under the banners of Gulmohur Films and Varrun Studios.
After more than two months of release, the flick is gearing up for release on the OTT platform, Zee 5. It will be available from September 15th only in the Kannada language. Black comedy film revolves around boys on a college campus who are jolted to reality by the death of their hostel’s warden.
