Akhil Akkineni's spy action thriller Agent, is finally making its way to OTT screens. It is directed by Surender Reddy, with a script penned by Vakkantham Vamsi. The film was earlier expected to release on May 19, has been postponed several times, over several months due to unknown reasons.
The latest report is that Agent is set to make its OTT debut on Sony Liv from September 29th after a string of delays. The movie is expected to stream in major Indian languages from the said date.
Malayalam Megastar Mammootty played an important role, while Sakshi Vaidya made her Telugu debut with Agent. Dino Morea, a Bollywood actor, played the antagonist. Hip Hop Tamizha scored the tunes.
The story is about how Mahadev (Mammootty), a senior official at RAW, enlists the help of Ricky, a newbie to bring down an evil syndicate run by The God (Dino Morea), an ex-agent who is a former student of Mahadev. Sakshi Vaidya plays Vaidya, a pilot and Ricky's love interest.
The film couldn’t impress the audience during its theatrical run and ended as a box office disaster. So, the makers are hoping for a solid response for its OTT release.
